Siena
Siena is in the heart of Tuscany and preserve innumerable
of historical, artistic and architectural treasures.
Piazza del Campo is surely one of the most impressive architectural
examples of the world. Here 2 times at year, on 2. July and on 16. August,
takes place the famous Palio. During these days the city relives all its
medieval traditions with that great historical procession, which files
before the beginning of the Palio.
Piazza del Duomo receives all its visitors with a beautiful view of the
stately cathedral, while the most elegant street of Siena is called Via
di Città, bordered by their medieval buildings. An absolutely sightseeing
deserves Palazzo Pubblico, Torre del Mangia and the Cappella di
Piazza.
In the surrounded
hills of Siena, you can find
Monteriggioni with its stately city wall,
Colle Val d'Elsa, city of the glazier masters and
Bagno Vignoni famous because of its large village square of thermal baths.
